DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1: Airport Transfer.
Arrival and transfer to your hotel in Kigali town for dinner and overnight.
DAY 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National park.
In the morning by 8:00 am your guide will pick you from the hotel and drive you to Nyungwe Forest NP. En rount,visit places like the Nyanza palace, Murambi Memorial and Butare Museum have lunch enroute and continue for overnight stay at Nyungwe Forest Lodge(Luxury) / Gisakura Guest House(Budget)/Nyungwe Top View lodge(Deluxe).
DAY 3: Chimp Tracking in Nyugwe forest NP.
early in the morning, you will be taken for briefing at the park headquarters. You will be told the do’s and don’ts while with the chimps before entering the forest. DAY 4: Canopy and Nature walks.
After breakfast, you will go for a canopy walk within the forest expecting to enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of different bird species such as the Rwenzori Turacos, Hornbills among others. You will also have a self guided walk after lunch around the nearby environment and the Kamiranzovu waterfalls. DAY 5: Drive to Lake Kivu.
Morning breakfast and head to Lake Kivu. Enjoy a breath-taking scenery of the Virunga Mountains and the green vegetation enroute. You will have lunch enroute and proceed for either a boat cruise along Lake Kivu or relaxing on the shores. DAY 6: Transfer to Volcanoes and Golden Monkey Tracking.
Have breakfast and drive to Volcanoes National park to do golden monkey tracking activity. These are the most endangered primate species at Parc des Volcans. In the evening, you may go for cultural walk to Iby’wachu for wonderful cultural entertainment by the Banyarwanda community. Dinner and overnight stay at Muhabura Hotel (Budget) / La Palme Hotel/Le Bambou gorilla lodge (Deluxe) / Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury).
DAY 7: Mountain Gorilla Tracking.
You will have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters to be briefed before entering the forest to track the gorillas. The hiking may take about 2-8 hours depending on the movement of these human friends. A maximum time of one hour is given for photography, observations, and enjoying them feeding . Dinner and overnight stay at Muhabura Hotel (Budget) / La Palme Hotel/Le Bambou gorilla lodge (Deluxe) / Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury).
DAY 8: Transfer to Kigali, city tour and departure.
Enjoy your breakfast and drive back to Kigali reaching early for a for a city tour in Kigali where you will visit Nyamata church, local markets, Genocide Museum among others. Later, proceed to the airport to catch up with your scheduled flight back home.
