Best Time To Visit Murchison Falls National Park : Murchison falls national which is locally known as kabalega national park and is found in the Albertine rift valley. It’s located in the north western of Uganda in districts of Masindi, buyisa, kiryandongo and Nwoya. It’s also known to be the largest park in Uganda with a cover of 3900 square kilometers.

Murchison falls was first gazetted as a wildlife reserve in 1926 and later named the national park. It’s a home to 76 different species and 451 bird species to thrill while on Uganda Safaris

Activities in Murchison falls include game drives, boat cruises to the delta, nature walks, bird watching and chimpanzee tracking. With such activities tourists can decide on when to visit the national park depending on the months as listed below

The national park can be visited any of the time throughout the year. But the best time is during the dry season which is December to February and between June to September.

High season; June to September. During this period Uganda receives a lot of tourists and this makes it a good season to visit the Murchison falls.

Low seasons; march, April, may, October and November [ this is so because of the heavy rains during these seasons and it makes the roads to be inaccessible and even some accommodations tend to close.

Best weather; June and July this is when there are few or no rains plus the temperatures are too low. That is to say these are the dry areas.

Worst weather; April, may, august to October. This is the wet season and with so there are heavy rains while in august there’s a lot of dust and heat which makes it so difficult for the tourists.

DECEMBER TO FEBRUARY [DRY SEASON]
