Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park.

 Your tour guide will welcome you at your Kigali hotel or lodge, give you a briefing on your upcoming safari, and then drive you to Volcanoes National Park. Before going to the national park where the mountain gorillas are found, you can choose to take an extra tour of Kigali. Overnight at Dinner at Gorillas view Hotel (Luxury)/La Palme Hotel (Deluxe) / Muhabura Hotel (Budget).

 Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park.

 After breakfast, you will drive a short distance to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters where the park ranger will give you a briefing on your gorilla trekking experience. Gorilla trekking is a fascinating pastime that might last up to three hours. The hikers must be in good physical shape because the terrain is occasionally muddy and rugged. After meeting the gorillas, you will spend an hour with them before returning to your lodging facility for lunch. You will connect with locals and discover their way of life during a community walk around nearby communities in the forest in the afternoon.

 Day 3: Transfer to Bukavu – DR Congo.

 Early morning breakfast at your accommodation followed by a drive with your tour guide to the Cyangugu border to enter the DR Congo. The genocide site, the king’s palace in Nyanza, and the national museum in Butare, the country’s second-largest city after Kigali, will all be visited. Lunch will be served on route. The largest freshwater lake in Rwanda, Lake Kivu, will be clearly visible to you. Come in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at the Horizon Hotel, Coco Lodge, or Orchid Safari Lodge (Budget).

 Day 4: Lowland Gorilla Tracking in Kahuzi Biega National Park.

On the 4th day of your 5 Days Rwanda and Congo Gorilla Tour, Get up and start your second gorilla trekking adventure. The lowland gorillas of the Democratic Republic of the Congo are trekked nowadays at Kahuzi Biega National Park. Moreover, you will attend the customary briefing before beginning the unforgettable journey of searching for lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park. Compared to mountain gorillas, lowland gorillas live in larger families. After tracking, you’ll take a stroll through nature at Kahuzi Biega National Park, where you’ll see the Tshibati waterfalls, Bukavu town, Mbayo tea plantations, the research facility, and the nearby traditional residences. After dinner, stay the night at the motel.

 Day 5: Transfer back to Kigali.

 After breakfast, you will be transported back to Kigali, crossing the border at Cyangugu. Late afternoon arrival in Kigali for drop-off at hotel or airport. Safari is over.
