Detailed Itinerary for 7 Days Queen Elizabeth and Primates Trekking.

Day 01: Transfer from Kampala – Bwindi.

Wake up very early in the morning for the scenic drive from Kampala up to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This drive is via Kampala – Masaka – Mbarara highway and it includes stopover at the equator.

After continue to Bwindi where you will arrive in the evening. Check at the lodge for relaxation. Accommodation options are Buhoma community bandas (Budget), Silver back Lodge (Mid-range) and Mahogany Springs (Luxury)

Day 02: Bwindi Gorilla Trek – Community Walk.

On this day, you will have a lifetime experience – meeting face to face with the species of Mountain Gorillas in the jungles of Bwindi.

Tourists are allowed to stay with the Gorillas in the Jungles for only one hour, later return to the lodge after great moments with the giants of the Jungles.

Return to the lodge for relaxation. In the evening you will be part of the community walk to visit the Batwa people.

Day 03: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park in Uganda

After breathtaking Gorilla trek in Buhoma, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha sector route.

You will sight the mostly wanted tree climbing lions en route in the Ishasha sector. These animals are usually sighted while resting up in fig trees.

After, continue to Queen for lunch at Mweya canteen – Later you will be part of the cruise along Kazinga channel. Stay at Simba Safari Camp (Budget), Ihamba Safari Lodge/Bush Lodge (Mid-range) and Mweya Safari Lodge/ Jacana Safari Lodge (luxury)

Day 04: Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

Do a morning game drive through the Kasenyi plains for about 2-3 hours for the drive and you will sight a lot of animals like elephants, buffaloes, bush bucks and more.

After the drive, start the awe-inspiring Journey to Kibale Forest National Park, a hub for chimpanzee primates.

Check in at Chimps Nest Lodge (Budget), Mountains of the moon hotel (Mid-range) and Ndali Lodge (Luxury).

Day 05: Chimpanzee Tracking – Bigodi walk.

You will do a morning chimpanzee tracking session, early in the morning be at Kanywanchu tourism centre for the briefing conducted. After the journey to the jungle start in a group searching for these primates.

While in the Jungle, you are exposed to other primates like baboons, vervets, colobus monkeys but the stars of the day are the chimps.

After locating, you are allowed for some time with them and after return to the lodge for diner and relaxation.

After lunch, you will do a walk through Bigodi to see variety of bird species and other Wildlife species.

Day 06: Transfer to Kampala.

After your breakfast, you will check out and start the drive back to Kampala. You can visit the Nakayima tree (historical tree) en route in Mubende.

After continue with the Journey to Kampala for an overnight stay. Stay at Namirembere Guest house (Budget), Cassia Lodge (Mid-range) and Serena Hotel (Luxury)

Day 07: Kampala City Tour – Departure.

If your flight is in the evening, you will do a morning city tour. This tour lets you visit different points of interest in the suburbs of Kampala city like cultural sites, monuments and more. After transfer to the airport for your return flight.
