7 Days Uganda Rwanda Gorilla and Cultural Safari

Our 7 Days Uganda Rwanda Gorilla and Cultural Safari takes you to track mountain gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda and to explore culture.

Day 1, Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

On your arrival, our tour representative/guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your Hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight stay at Cassia Lodge.

Depending on the time of arrival, your guide will take you on a city tour around Kampala. Places to visit include, Kasubi Tombs, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, the Uganda Museum and the African Craft Village.

Day 2, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park

After a fully served breakfast at your Hotel in Kampala, you will set out together with your driver guide and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park in South Western Uganda. En route to the Park, you will have a brief stop over at the Equator for water experiments and also get a chance to stand at a point where the two hemispheres start from. Continue with the journey and have another stopover at Mpambire drum village basically known as drum making village. You will have lunch in Mbarara town. Later after lunch, you will proceed with your Journey to the Park headquarters in Buhoma. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort for Luxury/ Lake Kitandara camp for mid range

Day 3, Gorilla trekking experience

After breakfast at the lodge, you will go to the park headquarters for briefing from the Uganda wildlife Authority ranger guides. After the briefing, the ranger will lead you into the thick impenetrable forest to start your search for the endangered rare species of Mountain Gorillas. The gorilla search always continues from the place where they were last seen the previous day. Upon reaching the area where these famous species are, you will only be allowed to interact with them for only one hour and you should always keep maximum silence while with these Gorillas. You are allowed to take photographs and so one. To find the Gorillas, it’s such a tiresome experience since it can take you almost 3-8 hours to find them. However, once you meet these gorillas, you will easily forget the hatches you have gone through to find them and instead save the good memories you will experience with them. After the interaction, you will return late to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 4, Transfer to Kabale and Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will leave Bwindi and transfer to Kabale a district commonly known as the Switzerland of Africa because of its beautiful scenic areas and weather. You will have lunch in Kabale town after which you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia cottages

Day 6, Gorilla tracking in Parc National Des Volcans and cultural tour to the twin lakes

This will be your second time to track these endangered rare species of Mountain Gorillas. The tracking time in Rwanda is different from the tracking time in Uganda. Most of the Gorilla groups in Rwanda are very near and therefore the time taken to track these gorillas is also not much. Retire to your Hotel for lunch and in the Afternoon visit the beautiful region of the twin Lakes Burera and Ruhondo where you will be introduced to traditional sustainable farming methods with African vegetables and fruits. Then later you can carry out a launch cruise in one of the traditional canoes and have a visit to the local witch doctors and the “snake man” plus the convent “Foyer de Charité”.
