Day 1: Kigali – Volcanoes National Park (Parc National Des Volcans)

Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be welcomed, greeted and assisted by our driver-guide, who will drive you to Kinigi Park Head Quarters, 96km from Kigali. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla view lodge for luxury / Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge for mid range.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking in Parc National Des Volcans

Early morning you will have breakfast at the Lodge and then later be Transferred to the Park Headquarters of Parc National des Volcans.  You will meet your ranger guides here who will briefly guide you on how to behave while in the forest searching for the Gorillas and also will let you know more about their behaviors and ways of life before you set off.

After the briefing you will enter into the forest and search for these endangered rare mountain Gorilla species. This is a once a life adventure and an opportunity one should never miss in life. Some time the Terrain is rough and muddy and this means that you as gorilla trekkers, you have to be strong enough and also physically fit. The activity will take like 4 to 6 hours and therefore you are advised to go with your packed lunch. After Gorilla tracking, visit the panoramic twin volcanic lakes of Burera and Ruhondo Closer to the gorilla’s home, Lakes Burera and Ruhondo are real gems you must not miss. Their deep blue water is surrounded by high hills. From these come immense water falls that decorate volcanoes in a spectacular way.

Through splendid excursions in the “land of a thousand hills“, you discover unforgettable beauty, sublime colors and a fantastic universe of Lakes Burera and Ruhondo where many merry children burst into laughter. Day 3: Butare museum and the genocide memorials.(Kabgayi and Murambi)

After breakfast drive to Butare the finest ethnographic collection in East Africa that displays advanced traditional artifacts that are illuminated by attractive selection of turn-of-the-century colorless photographs providing insight not only into pre-colonial lifestyles but also Rwanda’s culture,the National Museum or an additional sighting of genocide fact displays that were designed out of experience. Have lunch and later visit the genocide memorials (Kabgayi and Murambi) Kabgayi Church the massive cathedral of Kabgayi which is 3 km from Gitarama along the Butare road.

Later drive to Kigali and on the way visit Murambi Genocide Memorial Site famous for having dead remains of the massacred people like torn old clothes, skeletons of twisted group of people who were killed in groups’ young and elderly, Then dinner and overnight at Des, mill collins hotel for luxury or step town motel for Budget.

Day 4: Kigali city tour and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

After breakfast, you will go for the short city tour in Kigali and visit places like Local African markets, handcraft shops, shopping malls for simple shopping and transfer to Bwindi.  Dinner and overnight at Silver back lodge for luxury or Wagtail Eco lodge for mid range or budget.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking, and cultural entertainment from Batwa\ pgmis

This is one of the most fascinating activities at Bwindi. So you will wake up early for breakfast and into the Gorilla Sanctuary for your adventure. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but criss-crossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Mammals in the forest include the endangered mountain gorilla, rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephant, black fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, giant forest hog and many others. The park is known for its fascinating gorillas.

The time taken and the terrain vary according to the movements of these marvelous primates. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is a rare moving awesome and exciting adventure. After tracking go for cultural entertainment from Batwa.  Dinner and overnight at Silver back lodge for luxury or wagtail Eco lodge for mid range or budget.

Day 6: visit orphanage school in Bwindi and transfer Queen Elizabeth National park.

After break fast go and visit an orphanage schools in nkuringo,proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park.

Day 7. Game drive and boat cruise along kazinga channel.

On the 7th day of your 10 Days Gorilla and Culture Safari in Rwanda and Uganda, Early in the morning go for the morning game drive in the Northern crater area, not forgetting to have your breakfast early in the morning.  There are a lot of dark holes called the black craters with no water. You may be able to see a lot of animal species such as the Elephants, lions, buffaloes, Leopards, monkeys such as the black and white colobus, vervet, patus, red-tailed and the blue monkeys. Other animals that can be seen are the bush pigs and the warthogs, antelopes. This side of the park provides a good view of numerous craters. The activity takes 3-4 hour. Return for lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon go for evening launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. You may have a chance to see a lot of crocodiles along the channels bank sides, a lot of the hippopotamus since in Africa this place is regarded as the highest concentration of the hippos, elephants taking water and a lot of bird species at the pelican point. Day 8.  chimpanzee tracking and transfer back to Kampala

Early in the morning go for Chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge. Start the guided walks to search for the chimpanzees at the Kyambura’s fig tree Camp. In this gorge you are able to track man’s cousin, closest friend and that is the chimpanzee. The activity takes about 2-3 hours. Return for a late breakfast and after drive back to Kampala. Dinner and overnight at serena hotel for luxury, grand imperial for mid range, minister,s village hotel for budget.

Day 9  : Kampala Cultural tour.

Have breakfast and after visit  cultural sites within  Kampala.These cultural sites include  Kabaka’s Palace,  the Uganda Museum, the Bahai temple and Namugongo martyrs shrine . After lunch, head to the Ndere Centre see how amazingly the dancers wiggle their bodies and waists following the beats of the traditional instruments. A barbeque dinner will be served at Ndere Centre. Overnight at Serena hotel for luxury or Grand imperial hotel for mid range/ Ministers village hotel for budget.

Day 10:Departure day.

Have morning break fast and visit craft shops for shopping.later you will be transferred to airport for your flights back home.
