This 13 Days Uganda Classic Safari takes you to the primate and wildlife national parks in Uganda including Murchison Falls National Park in the northwest, Queen Elizabeth national park and Kibale national park in the west, and the far southwestern region of Uganda to the Bwindi impenetrable national park, the Mgahinga gorilla park, and Lake Mburo national park.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Drive to Hotel
Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be met by our company representative/driver guide, who will drive you to your hotel in Kampala, dinner and overnight stay at your Booked Hotel.
Day 2: Rhino trekking – Murchison falls national park – top of the falls
You will be picked up early morning after your breakfast and connect to Ziwa rhino sanctuary for Rhino trekking. It’s a 2-3 hours’ drive from Murchison falls national park. After trekking, connect to drive to Murchison falls national park. You will enter through Kichumbanyobo gate and proceed to the top of the falls before you proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay .
Day 3: Game drive and launch cruise – Murchison Falls
On the 3rd day of your 13 Days Uganda Classic Safari, After a leisurely breakfast, you will go on a game drive where you will see various species of animal, such as elephants, giraffes, lions, Uganda kobs among others. In the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise on the park’s main tourist attraction the unique Murchison Falls as well as the River Nile with its streaming hippo and serried ranges of crocodile along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different species getting down to drink & bathe. Dinner and overnight
Day 4: Drive to Kibale national park – Bigodi swamp walk and community tour
After breakfast, transfer to Kibale national park. It’s a 6-7 hours’ drive with en-route lunch in fort portal town. Proceed to Kibale national and connect for a nature walk –visiting the Bigodi swamp with lots of birds and primates and also do a community tour. Thereafter, proceed to your booked lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking experience – drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On the 5th day of your 13 Days Uganda Safari , After your early morning breakfast, you will proceed to the briefing and start your Chimpanzee trekking expedition. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale’s 795km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and with the most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate coupled with chimpanzees.
After trekking and your lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will arrive late afternoon and proceed to check-in at your booked lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay
In the morning, you will be taken on a game drive in the Kasenyi sector where you will get to see a variety of animals like lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, leopards and others. Return to the lodge for late breakfast, in the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise where you will spot various water animals like Hippos and crocodiles, the cruise will also enrich you with various water birds. Dinner and overnight as above
Day 7: Drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the 7th day of your 13 Days Uganda Classic Safari, In the morning, when you have had your breakfast, you will make your way to the Bwindi impenetrable national park via the Ishasha sector to experience a game drive in which you may have a chance to spot a tree-climbing lion. However, you should not expect to see them on the tree climbing trail, but it is the best place to spot the lions. Have en-route lunch and proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Upon arrival, check-in at your booked lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking experience
After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing and go for gorilla trekking. This could take 4-6 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas and on finding the creatures, you will be allowed to spend an hour with them. Return to your starting point where you will meet your guide after receiving your trekking certificate. Drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight at lodge as above
Day 9: Drive to Kisoro – Mgahinga gorilla national park
As soon as you have finished breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on your journey to Kisoro. It is a 4-5 hours’ drive arriving at good time for lunch at your booked lodge. Spend your afternoon relaxing at the lodge, dinner and overnight stay
Day 10: Golden monkeys tracking – Mgahinga National Park
You will have breakfast and head to Mgahinga national park, which is about 3 hours’ drive from Rushaga sector of Bwindi for your Golden monkey tracking experience. Upon arrival at the park headquarters at 7 am, you will receive a briefing from the park officials before entering the montane forest to search for the Golden monkeys. Trekking starts at 8 am taking about 2-5 hours tracking and on finding them, spend an hour with them before you return to meet your driver and drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at lodge
Day 11: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi – Explore Lake Bunyonyi on a boat trip
As soon as you wake up in the morning, check out of your hotel and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, which is about 2-3 hours’ drive from Kisoro. Upon arrival, check-in at your reserved lodge for relaxation while chilling and enjoying the views of the hills and the lake. After lunch, connect for a boat trip on the lake exploring some of the lake’s 29 islands found there, learning about the history and interacting with the locals. Meals will be served at your lodge.
Later afternoon, there are other optional activities to enjoy while staying near Lake Bunyonyi such as Zip lining across the lake, High-rope challenge activities, nature walks, so you can do these if you wish to as optional activities. Return to the lodge to relax.
Day 12: Drive to Lake Mburo national park – walking safari
In the morning, after breakfast, you will be taken out of the lodge and taken to Lake Mburo national park, stopping en route for lunch and visiting the Igongo museum to experience Ankole culture at its best. Proceed to the park and connect for a walking safari where you will view animals on foot before you connect to your booked lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay
Day 13: Morning game drive in Lake Mburo national park – Drive to Entebbe/Departure
In the morning, you will go for an early morning Uganda safari, have breakfast, and then connect to the Lake Mburo national park where you will take an early morning game drive in search of the early risers. It’s a said there are lions and leopards in Lake Mburo national park but quite difficult to see, if you go for a morning game drive, you have chances of seeing them, expect to see other animals such as the Impalas, Topi, Eland, and Klipspringer. Burchells Zebra, Giraffes, Buffalos also graze these areas.
After the game drive, embark on your jounery back to Kampala/Entebbe. It’s a 5-6 hours’ drive with en-route lunch and stop at the Uganda Equator. Proceed to Entebbe/Kampala and check-in at your own booked hotel or be dropped off at Entebbe airport for your onward flight back home.
